How to prove your reach to brands in Nigeria

Last updated 20 September 2026.

Every creator pitching a brand hits the same wall: the brand has only your word for your numbers. This page covers why that is a reasonable position for them to take, what counts as proof instead, and what a verified profile actually promises.

Why your number is doubted

A brand deciding between two creators is looking at two numbers that both arrived the same way: somebody typed them. It has no way to tell which is accurate, and the market it is buying in has a long history of purchased followers and inflated decks. Doubt is the sensible default and it is nothing personal.

Screenshots do not solve it. A screenshot is an image of a number rather than the number itself, so an honest one and an edited one look identical. It is also stale the moment it is taken.

The creator who gets picked is usually the one whose figure the brand did not have to take on faith.

What counts as proof

In rough order of how much weight a brand gives it:

  1. A connected account. The figure is read from the platform rather than entered by you, so there is nothing to dispute and nothing to age.
  2. A published post with its own link. Live, checkable by anyone, and evidence of delivery rather than of audience.
  3. A platform's own analytics export. Better than a screenshot, still a file you produced.
  4. A screenshot. Accepted by some brands, weighted by almost none.
  5. A number in a message. Treated as an opening position.

On Flixerpay your reach comes from the accounts you connect rather than from anything you type, which puts you at the top of that list by default. Instagram, TikTok and Facebook connect directly. WhatsApp TV works differently and has its own section below.

What verified means here, exactly

The Terms set this out for WhatsApp TV channels, and the limit is the important half. From section 8, on channel listings:

"Verification by Flixerpay means we checked what we could see at the time — it is not a guarantee to a brand about reach or results."

A creator profile is verified by a different mechanism, and the same limit applies to it for the same reason rather than because the Terms restate it. A connected account shows what the platform reported when it was read. Nobody can see what your next post will do, so no badge anywhere can promise it.

So a verified badge says a person or a connection confirmed something on a date. It does not make Flixerpay responsible to a brand for what your audience does.

That limit is what makes the badge worth having. A check that promised results would have to be refused to most people who asked for it.

Verifying a creator profile

  1. Sign in with Uphiva and open your profile.
  2. Connect the accounts you actually post from. Connecting an account you do not use produces a figure that is real and useless.
  3. Keep them connected. A connection that lapses stops being evidence, and a brand looking at a stale profile is back to taking your word for it.

There is no minimum. Verification is about whether a figure can be checked rather than how large it is, which is the whole reason a creator with a small real audience can win claims on this board.

Verifying a WhatsApp TV channel

A WhatsApp broadcast list has no public API, so nothing can read it automatically. Channel verification is done by a person on the Flixerpay team instead.

What that means for a channel owner: the subscriber numbers, rates and delivery details on your listing must be true and current, because a person will look at them. Staff may refuse a verification, and the Terms say so plainly.

It is also the scarcest badge on the platform right now. Fourteen channels are listed and one is verified, so a channel owner who gets checked this month is in a very short queue. How WhatsApp TV advertising works covers the rest of that side.

Questions

Why do brands not trust a screenshot of my follower count?

Because a screenshot is an image of a number rather than the number itself, and a brand has no way to tell an honest one from an edited one. It also ages the moment it is taken. A connected account answers both problems at once, because the figure is read from the account rather than from a picture of it.

What does a verified profile on Flixerpay mean?

It means Flixerpay checked what it could see at the time of checking. It is not a guarantee about reach or results, which is what the Terms say of channel verification and is equally true of a profile, because nobody can promise what somebody else's platform will do with your next post.

Do I need a big audience to get verified?

No. Verification is about whether a figure can be checked rather than how large it is. A small audience that is real is worth more to a brand than a large one it cannot confirm, and it is the confirmable one that wins claims.

How is a WhatsApp TV channel verified?

By a person on the Flixerpay team rather than automatically, because a WhatsApp broadcast list has no public API to read. The subscriber numbers, rates and delivery details on a listing must be true and current, and staff may refuse a verification.

The full wording is in the Terms.
